A wonderful pair of vintage jade cufflinks from the the 1950's! These beautiful cufflinks are made of sterling gilt with 14kt yellow gold backs, and have a lovely design that reflects their Chinese origin. Resting in the center of each cufflink is a jade plaque, which is flat and oval in shape with a smoothly polished surface. The center of each plaque has a hand-carved Chinese symbol, and a subtle border with a swirled accent in the center completes the design. The jade plaques are prong-set within a sterling gilt setting, and a set of yellow gold airplane backs stamped "14K" have been affixed to the back. The jade has magnificent coloring, with beautiful translucent green and milky white hues. A very unique and attractive pair of cufflinks, they would look wonderful worn by a man or woman and are perfect for any jade collector!
Measurements: Each jade plaque measures 3/4" wide, 5/8" tall, and 1/8" thick. The full length of each cufflink (including the airplane back) measures approximately 3/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver gilt and gold setting or to the jade plaques, which are intact and free of chips or scratches.
